CRUCIAL SOCIAL ISSUES

Even though there are many approaches to women’s reproductive health they have one thing in common  i.e. to ensure that the fundamental human needs and women’s  intimate desires were satisfied.
These days, as western civilization struggles with increasing number of fertility problems, topics related to women’s reproductive health are more and more challenging for medicine, bioethics, psychology or law. How should be complex reproductive healthcare performed? What role does the right diagnostics and patient-physician communication play? How is  legal environment for assisted reproduction practice in Slovakia? What should legislation on ART implement? To what extent should be dispositions with embryos allowed? What are the risks of home births, hormonal contraception or other risky procedures in gynecology and obstetrics? What legal, psychological, ethical and existential consequences could negligence in women’s reproductive healthcare cause?

EXPERT GUESTS AND CLEAR MESSAGE

Take a part  in this unique meeting of  leading experts  in the field of law, bioethics, medicine, psychology, pharmacology and moral theology  from Slovakia and from abroad.  In one place, in 2 days, more than 20 speakers will present their opinions and will be consequently confronted with opinions of tens of invited panelists. Lecturers, panelists and conference participants will articulate their opinions on conference thesis in moderated discussion.
Be present at the conference where different areas of expertise collide only to find a common language and solve raised issues. Contribute to a synthesis of opinions on conference thesis and formulate your questions and address them to the experts. The recommendations of pannel sessions will be communicated to media, the National Council of the Slovak Republic and to the government. Lecturers' opinions will be published in a conference international publication (proceedings).

BENEFITS FOR PARTICIPANTS

Each participant obtains an offprint of the proceedings containing contributions of the conference speakers and other authors- exclusive schorlarly output fit for use in subsequent practice. Each participant will get a Certificate of the completition of education, with corresponding amount of credits for medical practicioners.

The purpose of the conference is to raise questions and discuss them. We seek to create an opportunity for all conference participants to ask, discuss and formulate recommendations. The participant has an opportunity to confront his opinions with views of the other participants and a chance to make new contacts.  Participants are offered with an opportunity to publish in online post-Proceedings, which will be published by the organizer within 5 months.
